Carnation Bacterial Wilt Disease Prevention and Control Methods

The pathogens are bacteria, and bacterial wilt of carnation is caused by the infection of Pseudomanscaryphylli of the genus Bacillus, Pseudomonas spp., and Pseudomonas spp. There are 1-7 flagellums on both ends of the bacteria, and the bacteria of the pathogens are short-stemmed and multiply by splitting to spread the infection. The temperature can grow in the range of 5 to 46 degrees Celsius, and the optimum temperature is 30 to 33 degrees Celsius. It can be seen that this pathogenic bacteria has an unusually high temperature adaptation environment.
The law of incidence
The putrefied roots in the soil are an important source of disease; the bacterial wilt bacteria of carnation survive in the soil with the diseased roots, and the temperature can grow in the range of 5 to 46°C. The optimum temperature is 30 to 33°C. The pathogenic bacteria invade from the wound, and has a rapid onset at high temperatures (30 to 33°C) and high relative humidity; there are also many diseases such as fertilization, excessive watering, and transplantation of aging seedlings. There is a significant difference in disease resistance among carnation varieties. Coral from Japan is the most susceptible, and Elegancane and Nonhland are relatively disease-resistant; other hosts of this disease are carnations and dianthus; Japanese carnations are not susceptible.
Control methods
1. Shoots are not taken from the female parent in the affected area and cuttings should be taken in the area where the disease is not present. Nursery should use no pathogenic soil, and the seedbed should be high and dry.
2. Take care not to over-wet when transplanting; avoid root damage during transplantation; find the infected plant to immediately remove or burn it deeply.
3. The ward can be sprinkled with sulfur powder.
