In order to maintain life and regulate the temperature and humidity of the hive, a normal colony of bees needs 200 to 300 grams of water per day. This is especially true when the nest has a large spleen area and high temperature season. The water demand of the colonies is greater. Artificial water feeding can reduce the physical loss of bee remotely, especially when it is difficult to collect water in a lack of water. Ways to feed swarms are:
1. Feed water in the box. In the spring, there are many sub-spleens in the nest, and the bees need more water. At this time, water feeding should be combined with reward feeding. The feeder can hold sugar at night and water during the day. During the high-temperature drying season, a wet towel can be covered on the yarn cover and often sprinkled on the wet towel. During the colony transfer, appropriate spleen can be added to the nest, or a feeder can be placed on the outside of the honeycomb, and a sucker or sponge of saturated water can be placed in the feeder.
2. Nest door feeding water. That is, place a water filled bottle or plastic bag on the front door step of the beehive, and then take a piece of gauze so that one end of the gauze is soaked in a bottle or a plastic bag, so that the bee can draw moisture from the wet cloth.
3. The apiary feeds water in the open air. Place a large pot or dig a pit (inner plastic sheeting) on ​​the bee site, place slag or wood in the pit or basin, and then pour clear water for the bees. Automatic drinking fountains can also be made, that is, a small number of small grooves are carved on a wooden board, and a water bottle with a small opening is placed on the upper end of the wooden board. The water flows out slowly and fills the groove for the bees to use.
