Two ways to fatten sheep

Feeding and fattening is a kind of fattening method that feeds and feeds the sheep's feed in accordance with the feed's nutritive value according to the state before finishing. Although the feed input is relatively high, the large-scale, intensified, and industrialized sheep-raising can be implemented according to market needs. This can make full use of premises, equipment and labor, and labor productivity is also high. This fattening method can make the sheep gain weight faster during the fattening period, and the live weight of the slaughtered sheep is 10% to 20% higher than that of the grazing fattening and the mixed fattening sheep. In the case of market demand, it can be ensured that the fattening sheep can quickly reach the market standard within 30 to 60 days. Generally, the feed for fattening is 45% for mixed concentrates and 55% for coarse and other feeds. If the fattening intensity is required to be greater, the content of the mixed concentrate can be increased to 60%, but it must not exceed 60%. Care must be taken to prevent enterotoxaemia and urinary calculi due to calcium and phosphorus imbalances.

There are basically two forms of mixed fattening: one is during the whole fattening period, the sheep grazing every day and supplement a certain amount of mixed fine material to ensure the nutritional needs of fattening sheep; the other is to divide the whole fattening period into 2~ Phase 3, pre-all grazing, in the middle and late period, according to the principle of increasing from less to more, gradually increase the amount of supplemental mixed concentrate and then combine with other feeds to fatten. The amount of mixed concentrates for start-up of fattening sheep is 200-300 grams per day, and it is increased to 400-500 grams per day in the last month. The former method is suitable for lambs with greater growth intensity and faster weight gain, and the latter method is suitable for lambs and lambs with smaller growth intensity and slower weight gain.

Mixed fattening can increase the fattening weight of the fattening sheep during the whole fattening period by about 50% compared with that by relying solely on grazing and fattening. At the same time, the taste of the lamb meat after slaughter is also good.
