Wen Xingxing, inspector of the Department of Market Order of the Ministry of Commerce, revealed at the forum that in the first three quarters, consumer demand in the pharmaceutical circulation market in China was active and the industry continued to maintain steady growth: the supply and sales of the pharmaceutical industry grew steadily. China's seven major categories of pharmaceutical goods totaled 590 billion yuan, an increase of 17% over the same period of the previous year, an increase of 14 percentage points, total sales of 62 billion yuan, an increase of 3 percentage points; the pharmaceutical business benefits rose steadily and realized profits With RMB 9.05 billion, the average profit margin was 2.1%, and the gross profit margin was 8.5%. The profitability of key enterprises continued to increase, stimulating steady growth in the industry's profitability level.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce, in 2010, the total sales volume of the pharmaceutical distribution industry in China reached 708.4 billion yuan, an increase of 24.6% over the previous year, of which pharmaceutical sales reached 127.5 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 20%.

Wen Zaixing pointed out that the rapid development of pharmaceutical circulation has brought about a general improvement in the national economy as well as the medical needs of medical reforms, providing a good external environment for the development of the pharmaceutical industry. In particular, in May this year, the Ministry of Commerce issued the outline of the “12th Five-Year” pharmaceutical distribution industry development plan, which has played a role in promoting the development of pharmaceutical circulation reform. Second, mergers and acquisitions of enterprises have promoted the adjustment of pharmaceutical circulation structure. The large companies such as Sinopharm Group and China Resources Group have accelerated their development towards scale and intensive, and have become an important force in the circulation field.
