Three Ways to Improve Dairy Milk Production

Wang Zhonghua is currently Dean of the College of Animal Science and Technology of Shandong Agricultural University, a member of the Feed Nutrition Committee of the China Dairy Cow Association and a director of the China Dairy Industry Association. Prof. Wang emphasized that to achieve high yields for dairy cows, we must ensure the quality of roughage and do a good job of silage; Second, we must guard against invisible mastitis, and usually do tests for somatic cells; Third, we must do a good job of breeding cows. In the future, the development of the dairy industry will surely embark on the path of standardization and scale.

High quality silage is the basis for high dairy cow production

In the north, corn silage is the main roughage for dairy cows. Most dairy farmers now realize the importance of silage with whole plant corn, but most of them are of poor quality and there are many problems, such as too long and uneven. Prof. Wang Zhonghua suggested that during the operation, the axillary segment should be about 1 cm. Before rolling, there was a rolling procedure to crush the corn kernels. In addition, the moisture of the entire plant corn silage should not be too high, and dry matter should exceed 25%.

The design of the silo can not be made simple. The inconvenience of the semi-basement silo is that it is easy to store water, it is perishable, and it is inconvenient to take it. However, the silo is built on the ground. The wall should be trapezoidal, narrow and wide at the bottom, and reinforced steel in the wall. In addition, the size and width of the silo should be noted. The proper width is to ensure that the daily feed can consume 10 to 15 cm.

Professor Wang said that to prevent the secondary fermentation of silage, the key lies in storage, access and other links.

Invisible mastitis prevention, to detect somatic cells

Recessive mastitis does not show symptoms on the surface, but it can significantly affect dairy cows' milk production. The number of somatic cells can reflect whether cows have subclinical mastitis. In one milliliter of milk, if the number of somatic cells exceeds 200,000, it means that there is a certain degree of infection in the cow's udder. Some large-scale dairy farms lowered the number of somatic cells in milk by “threshold” below 500,000 per milliliter.

The output of dairy cows abroad can reach 10 tons per year, but in China, the output of many dairy cows is only 5-6 tons. Professor Wang said that if we can achieve immediate results in increasing production, as long as we can improve the quality of roughage and prevent hidden mastitis, it would not be a problem to produce one ton of milk per cow.

It is of great significance for the long-term development of the dairy industry to achieve improved cow quality

Improvements in dairy cow breeds and raising reproduction rates are two different things. The improvement of the species is a systematic task, and long-term, systematic scientific breeding techniques must be implemented in the dairy cattle population in order to achieve overall genetic improvement in the dairy herd. During the period, we must also determine the individual production performance of dairy cows, regular fine breed registration, determination of the descendants of bulls, etc.

Prof. Wang Zhonghua stated that to realize the high yield of dairy cows and ensure the fine quality of dairy cows, this is the fundamental long-term plan.

Some experts once said that the dairy cow industry is intensive in technology, capital, and labor in the animal husbandry, and has the greatest potential for resource utilization. Dairy cows have very high requirements for animal husbandry technology, and they have a very high level of requirements and qualifications for employees.

IT02S, is JRT new product in the early 2019, which is a single-point LiDAR sensor, also called tof distance sensor. With a micro size of 46x17x7mm, customers can widely use in many Laser Measurement Solutions. The lidar distance sensor can measure 12m short-range with high frequency up to 100hz. It's great for Unmanned Aerial Systems. If you need us send you data sheet and spec for this products, offering sample as well, pls tell us, thank you.
