Pregnant Ewe Stage Recipe

The different stages of pregnancy in ewes have different nutritional requirements and must be properly fed for different stages.

About one month after the ewes are pregnant, it is a crucial period for the growth and development of the fetus. After the ewes are grazing and feeding to reach fullness, they should also be properly fed according to the nutritional status of the ewes.

After 2 months of gestation, the ewes gradually increased the amount of supplements for the concentrates. The concentrates were soya bean 40%, corn 30%, barley 20%, wheat 10%, and soaked in warm water for 6 to 8 hours. Soybeans and other feed total 10% to 15% soybean cake, 5% to 8% bran, 1% salt, feed 2 to 3 times a day, each sheep fed 50 to 100 grams each time, young ewes increase the amount of feeding the amount.

After 3 months of gestation, the ewes should appropriately control the total volume of forages fed, supplement feeds and concentrates should be fed less frequently to prevent overfeeding the fetus.

After 4 months of gestation, the ewe’s ewes’ feeding amount increased to twice that of the pre-pregnancy period, and they also fed green and blue juicy feeds such as tender pastures and carrots, and they were prohibited from feeding potatoes, lees and untreated cottonseed cakes. Rapeseed cakes are forbidden to feed on rotten spoilage, cold or overheated, and overly acidic feedstuffs, so as to avoid abortion, dystocia and post-production diseases in ewe.

About 1 month before birth, appropriate control over the amount of coarse feed, as far as possible to feed the texture of soft, juicy green feed, fine material to increase the amount of wheat bran feed, in order to pass through the intestinal convenience.

About 10 days before delivery, the feed intake is reduced according to the digestive and appetite status of the ewe. 2 to 3 days before delivery, the ewe's breasts are swollen and accompanied by sub-abdominal edema. One-third to one-third of the amount of feed should be reduced from the diet to prevent excessive milking or excessive milk production at the beginning of delivery. Thickness causes mastitis, back milk, and diarrhea in the lamb. In addition to reducing the amount of raw materials, lean ewes should also properly increase protein-rich milk feeds such as sesame cakes, bean cakes, soymilk, and bean dregs, and succulent diarrheal feeds in case of diarrhea. Ewes lack milk after birth.
