Morphological characteristics Adult female short oval, length 6-9.5mm, width 8.7mm, height 5.5mm, wax shell gray, dead yellow-brown reddish. Peripheral horn wax block: 3 front ends, 2 on each side, 1 rear end with a conical shape larger than the tail, and the middle dorsal hemisphere is hemispherical. The antenna is 6 knots, and the third is the longest. Feet short and thick, body purple. The male body is 1.3mm long, auburn, with well-developed fore wings, short yellowish width, specialization of the hind wing as a balance bar. Egg oval, 0.3mm long, purple. The nymph is flat and oval in shape, 0.5 mm long, reddish-brown; wax shell appears at age 2, female wax shell is long oval, milky reddish, with wax at the front, 4 on each side and 2 on the back. Living habits 1 generation, wintering on branches with fertilized females. Hunchun continued to injure, and lay eggs in the body in June. The egg period is about 1 week. During the nymphal period of 80 to 90 days, the females were debrided into adult dermis three times and the males were deprived of the previous epidermis twice. The larvae were then debrided, and the eclosion period was similar to that of the females. After mating, the males died. The females continued to infest until the winter.
