Calcium supplements for laying hens

As we all know, it is very important to add calcium (bone meal, shell powder, stone meal, etc.) to chicken during the production of eggs. However, in the process of adding calcium, there are many tips, otherwise it will not achieve the desired results. According to the laws of physiology and biochemistry of laying hens and tests, it is proved that the effect of feeding calcium on laying hens is best in the latter half of the day (between 12 noon and 6 pm). Because eggshell formation is usually at night, if the calcium is fed the first half of the day, it is absorbed into the bloodstream through the digestive tract in the small intestine, deposited in the bones, and then used again when necessary to enter the uterus to form eggshells; only the latter half of the day Calcium, absorbed by the small intestine through the bloodstream, can be directly used to form egg shells at night, which is extremely beneficial to chicken egg production and health.

With regard to the problem of calcium content in laying hens' diets, it is now generally accepted that the optimum is 3%. This ratio is fine. However, it cannot be absolute, and it should be based on its egg production situation. Because the whole process of chickens from the production to the stop production, the amount of calcium required is also not the same. The initial period of egg production is less, and the peak period of egg production can also exceed 3%. When the egg production rate is above 85%, the calcium content in the diet can increase to 3.5% to 4%. However, calcium is not as good as possible, and it is also unfavorable for its egg production and health.
